I’m taking part in the #beatthebacklist challenge!

Wahaay, I love bookish challenges and the awesome Austine at Novel Knight has the best one for 2017. Beat the Backlist will run from January 1st to December 31st 2017, it’s a challenge made to encourage readers to get through their TBR piles, if you’re like me (someone who keeps adding to the pile but never looks back ), then this challenge is perfect for you. All you need to do is compile a list of books that you’d like to read (so basically a TBR list), and enter the challenge.

You can make this even more fun by joining in as a member of your Hogwarts house (YAASS CHALLENGE ). If you join as a house member, you get to earn points and win the house cup. Earning points is as simple as posting about your TBR for the challenge on Goodreads or social media (20 points), reading 10 pages (1 point), writing a review (50 points), and/or posting your reviews on retail websites like Amazon (15 points).

House points are monitored and shown on the Novel Knight blog. Every month from January onwards, each house will be able to win the cup and Austine will display this in the sidebar on her blog. As a Gryffindor, I’m horrified at how far behind we are already, so if you’re a Gryffindor please join in and help us out, we have the least members out of the four houses too!  You also get a random Pottermore-style code name to use when submitting something for house points (mine is SunSnitch).

If you do join the challenge, let me know! I’d love to follow your TBR lists and see how you’re doing. You can see my #beatthebacklist shelf on Goodreads or hear me going on about it on Twitter @SugarQuillsUK.
